Clinton Christian Academy had 43 students compete at the Midwest Academic and Fine Arts Festival at Calvary University on Friday, April 12th. Students in grades 6-11 competed in Math, Science, Speech, Music, Band, Art & Photography events. Here are the results from that competition.
Math Results: 7th Grade Individual testing was Lily, Kalynn & Avery. Lily & Kalynn received good ratings, while Avery received honorable mention. Allie tested in 8th grade math; she received an excellent rating. Carissa, Vivian and David tested in Algebra I; Carissa received an excellent rating, while Vivian & David received superior ratings. Dakoda tested in Algebra II and received honorable mention. CCA students also tested in 7th Grade, 8th Grade, Algebra I and Algebra II team events. Kalynn, Avery and Lily received a good rating for 7th grade math. Allie, Katie & Kynlee received an excellent rating for 8th grade math. Vivian, Maggie, Carissa & David received an excellent rating for Algebra I. Clara & Dakoda received honorable mention for Algebra II.
Science Results: Arianna, Caroline, Kaitlyn, Carissa & Mason entered Experimental and Demonstrative Science projects. All students received IV ratings.
Photography Results: Jacob and Emma received a II rating for their photography, while Braelyn and Clara received a I rating.
Art Results: Colten entered 3 pieces of art and received a I, II and III rating. Audrey entered 2 pieces of art and received III ratings for both. Vivian received a IV rating on her painting. Clara received a II rating for her sculpture, but her printmaking piece received a I rating and she medaled. Hannah entered 4 pieces and received a I, II and 2-III ratings. Allie and Paytyn were the only Middle School entries; Paytyn received a II rating and Allie a III rating.
Music Results: I Ratings were Allie’s vocal solo and the HS Instrumental Ensemble (Clark, Logan, Matthew, Mason, Carissa, Emma & Kennedy). II Ratings were Mackenzie’s piano solo, Clarinet Duet (Carissa & Emma), Saxophone Duet (Kennedy & Hadley), Vivian’s vocal solo, Band, the Instrumental Trio (Mason, Matthew & Logan), Carissa’s clarinet solo and the MS small vocal ensemble (Mayme, Arianna, Caroline, Ilaina, Lexi, Allie & Katie).
