Annual Chamber Dinner Returns After Hiatus With A Big Bang

The Greater Area Clinton Chamber of Commerce would like to thank everyone who came out and helped make their 82nd Annual Banquet such a success! Over 300 attendees helped make this Banquet one to remember. Master of Ceremonies Tim Glasscock moved the event along smoothly as awards and speakers were presented. Past President Daniel Dody discussed the Chambers accomplishments in 2022. These included 47 new Chamber members and a 97% retention rate for existing members. Tourism reported a 20% increase in traffic since 2018 and a 14.2% increase in bed tax revenues. 2023 President Adam Cummings spoke on “Ensuring a Brighter Future”, and was followed by Economic Developer Mark Dawson. There have been a reported 342 new jobs created in Clinton since 2019 and over $90,000,000 invested in Clinton development. 79% of manufacturers have expanded in the last 3.5 years and last year alone saw nearly double the commercial building permits issued. Dawson also discussed 2023 initiatives for Clinton which include developing retail sites for several needed retail services in Clinton, creating a strategy for developing workforce housing policies and attracting developers, and increasing talent and numbers in the civilian labor force.
Powell Meats catered the dinner and entertainment was provided by David Cummings and the CHS Band. The Band was awarded as the Chamber’s Citizens of the Year award for the extensive community service they completed last year and being fantastic representatives of Clinton at the Sugar Bowl. Cindy Wirsig, owner of C Squared, received the Business of the Year award. Amber Hansen, President Elect, was the Chamber Ambassador of the Year. Bill Thole was given the Volunteer of the Year award in recognition of his service to several committees, leadership on tourism initiatives, and countless hours spent helping in every capacity.
