Cardinals Seek Upset, Fiery In Loss To Roosters

Posted

Cardinals football welcomed Pleasant Hill football to town this past Friday night, looking to smudge the Roosters spotless record through three games for their first win on the season.
While it was not to be for the Cardinals once again Friday night, the Cardinals left it all on the gridiron, fighting to the final whistle.
In this one, the visiting Roosters got off to fast start, scoring on a 6-yard toss in the first quarter and cashing in on a two-point try. Not to be outdone, the Cardinals responded with a score of their own, as wide receiver Emrie Neal collected on a 10-yard strike from quarterback Kanden LaFarge. A successful extra point from kicker Andrew Himes brought the score to 7-8, just one point in favor of Pleasant Hill.
Unfortunately for the Cardinals, the Roosters offense would take over from there, as Pleasant Hill would go on to score four unanswered touchdowns to round out the half, bringing the tally well into the Roosters favor, 37-7 at the break.
The second half however, was a different story, as the Cardinals defense would tighten up despite the deficit, and hold the Roosters to just one more score for the remainder of the contest.
As for the Cardinals offense, it rounded out the night on a positive note of its own, courtesy of a 2-yrd dash to paydirt by LaFarge for the 45-13 final.
Despite strong effort and growth each week, with the loss, Cardinals Football sees its record fall to 0-4 on the season. The team will look to get into the win column next week on the road as they travel to Oak Grove to face the hometown Panthers, who carry their own 0-4 record into the matchup.
