CCA Junior Class Trip To The Creation College Expo And Ark Encounter

Posted

The Clinton Christian Academy Junior class spent four days in Williamstown, Kentucky to visit the Ark Encounter, Creation Museum, and the Creation College Expo. It was a 10 hour drive so we stopped at the Big Four Bridge in Louisville, KY; there we were able to catch a “Day of the Dead” celebration.
At the Ark Encounter, there were over 30 different Christian colleges and several well-known Christian speakers such as Ken Ham, the CEO of Answers in Genesis, the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum. We were able to walk through the whole Ark and see all the exhibits. One of our favorite memories is visiting the petting zoo. We were able to pet adorable wallabies and goats. Amya was “attacked” by an equally adorable baby kangaroo, but she’s ok now. On our last day we made sure we were able to ride the carousel, which had dinosaurs and other exotic animals.
We were fortunate to also visit the Creation Museum, which is a state of the art museum showing biblical history. It had many exhibits about creation, a planetarium, real dinosaur displays, and displays of various insects and animals. We unwound after our Creation Museum visit by playing tag on the playground. Kade showed off his wonderful front flip. On the way back to Missouri, we visited a town; Casey, IL. It’s known by their slogan: “Little Town, Big Things”. We saw the world’s largest mailbox, clogs, pencil, rocking chair, rat trap (which Levi got stuck in), pitchfork and much more. These were all fantastic things to see as each item had bible scripture on it!
All of us students really enjoyed the trip and liked getting the experience of the ark and being able to see some Christian college options.
