Clinton High School Happenings!

Here are just a few highlights of all the great things happening at Clinton High School this year:
● Our theme this year is UNITED, with a goal to continue to bring everyone together as
Cardinals for the 21-22 school year
● All students are issued a Chromebook (similar to a laptop) again this year for both in-class and at home learning
● We have over 600 students in our building this year with approximately 60 staff members.
● The following CHS Activities are up and running for the fall season, (number of students involved)- Band(90), Cross Country (16 athletes), Girls Tennis (14), Football (43), Soccer
(19), Cheerleading (50), Volleyball (35), Softball (17), Dance (13), Flags (10)
● CHS got an updated asphalt parking lot with fresh striping this summer as part of the
Bond Issued passed in June 2020
● Approximately 50 students are enrolled in college dual credit classes through State Fair
Community College this semester
● CHS Homecoming week will be the week of September 27th-October 1st. Theme, parade information and community involvement opportunities will be announced soon
● Cardinal Football is playing a Junior Varsity only schedule this year with a team primarily made up of Freshman and Sophomore players. Football will play varsity again starting next year
● Students and staff are wearing masks to start the year in an attempt to keep everyone healthy at school and reduce the number of quarantines from the Covid-19 virus
● Community members are welcome at all of our sporting and activity events this year. We would love to see people cheering on our Cardinals!
● 17 students scored a 3 or higher on Advanced Placement tests last spring. These students were recognized with yard signs after their official scores came out in July
