The oaths of office were administered to those officials who won their elected positions at the previous November election. The oaths were administered at the Henry County Courthouse on Friday, December 30, at noon by both Judge Harold Dump and County Clerk Rick Watson. Two new officials will be recorded: Wendee McGhee (Circuit Court Clerk) and LaChrisha Gray (Prosecuting Attorney), while the remaining officials either ran unopposed or won their primary (and ran unopposed).
Many of the officials elected to have their families present when they took their oaths: Judge Harold Dump swore in Circuit Court Clerk Wendy McGhee and County Clerk Rick Watson, and County Clerk Rick Watson swore the remaining officials in. The offices filled were: County Clerk, Rick Watson; Circuit Court Clerk, Wendy McGhee; Recorder of Deeds, Gail Perrymann; LaChrisha Gray, Prosecuting Attorney; Jim Stone, Presiding Commissioner; and Harold Dump III, Circuit Court Judge.
