Ross Comes Home To Clinton To Lead Cardinals Baseball

Posted

Tayler Ross, a 2012 Cardinal alum, was hired to be the head Cardinal baseball coach for the 2023 season. He commented he was very excited to be coming back to the Cardinals and really appreciated the opportunity.
Ross played baseball for the UCM Mules as a pitcher and had the opportunity to be a part of the 2016 MIAA Championship team.
He graduated in 2017 with a degree in Design and Drafting. His ‘day job’, as he puts it, is with Kiewit in Lenexa.
For the last two years he has been coaching the Sherwood Marksmen baseball team.
Coach Ross is married to Bethany Ross (also a Cardinal alum). Their two kiddos are Vandy (4) and Molina (2). The Cardinal assistant coach at this point is Wayne Griffen.
In high school, Ross played under Coach Garvin. Ross won multiple awards, including All-State his senior year. His pitching and hitting helped lead Clinton to one conference championship, two sectional crowns and three district titles.
CHS A.D. Alex Johnson commented they were excited to have Ross join (rejoin) the Cardinal family as its baseball coach.
