Clinton Lady Cardinals Tennis is off to a fast start to begin the season, notching two wins on the road to begin the season.
The Lady Cards opened up play with visit Odessa, where they were able to battle their way to a tough fought victory, seizing the match 5-4 in what was a back and forth encounter right up to the very end.
Their next challenge entailed a visit to Center, where the Lady Cards were again the victors, this time by a comfortable 9-0 margin.
As for the keys to the team’s early success, Head Coach of the Lady Cards, Sarah Armon, attributes the hot start to the team’s “chemistry, positive attitude, and work ethic.”
In fact, when asked about what positives so far that they could take with them and build upon moving forward, Coach Armon commented that the team’s “ability to push through and persevere” had really impressed her in the matches, and that the confidence they have gained from these early wins will be important as the competition heats up in the coming weeks.
The Lady Cardinals next match up comes on September 6, when the Warrensburg Lady Tigers pay them a visit on their home court.
