State Fair Community College (SFCC) Vice President of Academic and Student Services Dr. Michael Murders has been selected to serve on the Whiteman Area Leadership Council (WALC) Board of Directors.
The Whiteman Area Leadership Council is a nonprofit coalition of regional elected officials, business and civic leaders, and economic development representatives dedicated to ensuring the long-term viability of Whiteman Air Force Base (WAFB). The council works to enhance the base’s mission readiness, infrastructure, and quality of life while fostering collaboration between WAFB and surrounding communities.
SFCC President Dr. Brent Bates expressed confidence in Dr. Murders’ leadership and contributions to the council.
“Dr. Murders is deeply committed to strengthening partnerships between SFCC, Whiteman Air Force Base, and the communities we serve,” said Bates. “His expertise in education and workforce development will be a tremendous asset to the council’s efforts in supporting Whiteman’s mission and the economic vitality of our region.”
Dr. Murders brings extensive experience in higher education administration, academic programming, and student services to his role on the WALC board. His work at SFCC aligns with the council’s vision of fostering collaboration among regional stakeholders to support military personnel and their families.
The 2025 WALC Board of Directors is led by President Greg Frencken, Vice President Dr. Jerrod Wheeler, Secretary Randy Alewel, and Treasurer Kelvin Shaw. Dr. Murders joins a distinguished group of directors focused on advocating for Whiteman’s future and strengthening Missouri’s role in national security.
