At approximately 12:05 p.m. today, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office was alerted by Central Dispatch regarding a reported shooting incident in the 700 block of SE 1251 Private Road in the Finey area.
Deputies responded immediately. While enroute, information was received that the alleged suspect had fled the scene.
Upon arrival at the residence, deputies located a deceased female victim, who was identified as a resident of the home. The scene was secured, and the investigation was initiated.
A short time later, deputies with the Benton County Sheriff’s Office located and detained the alleged suspect in Benton County. That individual is currently in custody on a 24-hour investigative hold.
