Benton County Accepts Diesel And Gas Bids

Benton County Presiding Commission Steve Daleske called the May 6 meeting of the Benton County Commission to order at 9 am with Commissioners Larry Berry and Scott Harms in attendance.

District 1 Commissioner Larry Berry made a motion to approve the bid for diesel fuel for Road District #1 from Zollicker Oil Company at a cost of $3.125 per gallon. District 2 Commissioner Scott Harms seconded the motion. The motion passed. The other bid was received from Warsaw Oil Company at a cost of $3.35 per gallon, the Commissioners accepted the low bid price.

Commissioner Berry made a motion to accept the bid for unleaded gasoline for Road District #1 from Zolllicker Oil Company at a cost of $2.965 per gallon. Commissioner Harms seconded the motion. The motion passed. The other bid was received from the Warsaw Oil Company at a cost of $2.95 per gallon.

County Clerk Susan Porterfield met with the Commission to present monthly budget reports for each department. The Commissioners also discussed funding information on current BRO bridge projects that has been received from MODoT. Bills were submitted for approval and payment.

Circuit Clerk Shanda Schultz met with the Benton County Commission to discuss concerns pertaining to the current security/fire alarm system located in the Courthouse facility.

Commissioner Berry made a motion to renew membership in Kaysinger Basin Regional Planning Commission and Economic Development District and to re-appoint Presiding Commissioner Daleske as the county representative on this board. The motion passed. Annual cost for membership renewal is $3,837.40.

Benton County Treasurer Rick Renno presented the weekly financial report.
