Clinton Cross Country Teams Inducted Into Hall Of Fame

Between 1991 and 1993, the Clinton High School Girls Cross Country Teams earned top-four finishes each season at the Class 3 state meet, including winning the state championship in 1993. This historic run was the reason team members and coaches from the 1991-1993 era were inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame at the Women’s Sports Luncheon in Springfield, MO.
Team members from this era included: Jennifer (Owen) Call, Leigh Ann (Sexauer) Thompson, Emily (Miles) Kazmaier, Mindy (Wyatt) Hill, Emily (Sledd) Brown, Amber (Houk) Lautenschlager, Amy (Norcross) Wareham, Tracy Smith, Amber (Harrell) Woodrome, and Jamie (Alexander) Smith. Coaches Clint and Karen Sanders dedicated a combined total of almost 60 years teaching and coaching students in the Clinton School District.
Present for the induction ceremony were: Clint and Karen Sanders, Emily (Miles) Kazmaier, Amy (Norcross) Wareham, Amber (Harrell) Woodrome, Jamie (Alexander) Smith, Jennifer (Owen) Call, Mindy (Wyatt) Hill, Emily (Sledd) Brown, Amber (Houk) Lautenschlager, Clinton School District administration and staff, Board of Education member (and former bus driver for the Cross Country team) Marilyn Parratt, as well as friends and family members of the inductees.
