Veterans Day is a time to recognize the men and women who have served our country, and two Clinton schools are preparing special events to honor them.
Clinton High School and Clinton Christian Academy are inviting area veterans and their families to join them Wednesday, Nov. 11, for meals and assemblies marking Veterans Day.
From a morning breakfast at Clinton High School to a luncheon at Clinton Christian Academy, both schools are giving veterans an opportunity to gather with family, visit with neighbors, and take part in programs recognizing their military service.
The events also give students a chance to connect with veterans in their own community and learn more about the meaning behind Veterans Day.
Clinton High School Veterans Day Celebration
Clinton High School will begin its annual Veterans Day celebration with a free buffet-style breakfast for local veterans and their families.
Breakfast will be served from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., giving guests time to eat before the school's assembly.
The Veterans Day assembly will follow from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Clinton High School.
The annual event brings veterans and the school community together, giving students an opportunity to recognize those who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
Veterans and their families from Clinton and the surrounding area are invited to attend both the breakfast and assembly.
Clinton Christian Academy Veterans Day Celebration
Clinton Christian Academy will continue the day's observances with a Veterans Day luncheon and assembly in the school's gymnasium.
The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. and will feature a soup-and-sandwich bar, along with coffee, tea, and lemonade.
Following lunch, the academy will hold its Veterans Day assembly beginning at 12:30 p.m.
The program will include a special presentation honoring veterans and recognizing their service.
The gathering also gives students and families a chance to spend time with local veterans and learn more about the importance of military service.
All area veterans and their families are welcome to attend.
Two Schools, One Community Tradition
Although the schools are hosting separate celebrations, both events share a common purpose: bringing the community together on Veterans Day.
The schedules also allow veterans and their families to attend both programs, beginning with breakfast and the morning assembly at Clinton High School, followed by lunch and the afternoon assembly at Clinton Christian Academy.
Both events are scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 11, and invitations have been extended to veterans throughout Clinton and the surrounding communities.
