Have I Got A Line For You!

Enterprise Reporter Homer May died on Friday. Condolences go out to the May Family. Homer was highly intelligent and courteous. His word was his bond. He loved newspapers and covering city board meetings in Warsaw, Lincoln and Cole Camp. Homer’s career with the Enterprise began in 1999. And he knew how to laugh at the world’s absurdity. On days when things were “Going to hell in a hand basket,” Homer could be counted on for a sense of levity. I’m privileged to have known and worked with him. God Speed Homer and a very fond farewell.

Attended an event with Aunt Jane on Saturday. It was held at Union Station in Kansas City. Years ago, it was renovated from top to bottom with restaurants, museum exhibits and event spaces. JWB remembers when it was bustling with trains arriving and leaving day and night. Red Caps were hand on to carry suitcases down to the trains on the level below or up the stairs when you got off the trains. These gentlemen help support their families from the tips they received. The first train trip I ever took was out of Union Station in the early 1980’s. Back then it was pretty rundown and the Red Caps were long gone. Anyway, it was a nice Saturday evening and Union Station was jam packed. It was good to see the grand old place bustling.

The word “Dictator” keeps getting thrown around, but defiance’s against the Supreme Court show where the dictatorial directives are coming from. Student loan forgiveness and immigration rules come to mind. We’re becoming more and more like the centrally controlled USSR. There will be two classes of people: Friends of the Politburo and enemies of the Politburo. We already know who falls into each category. Middle class taxpayers have no representation. We’re just the engine that allows the political elite to live like kings and queens. Never thought I’d see an administration that operated so poorly they’d have to import an entire nation of voters to override the vote of legal citizens. unbelievable! Isn’t this the craziest world?
