Jubilee Days Over The Top! With Under The Sea Theme

The Fifty-seventh Annual Jubilee Days will kick off with the Jubilee Days Baby Contest on Wednesday, June 5 in the Warsaw Community Building. All babies up to 24 months old whose parents reside in the Warsaw R-9 School District are eligible for the event. Registration is at 5:45 PM and the competition will start at 6. Cost to enter is $5. The babies are required to wear a plain white onesie. Hair ribbons, bows or other hair accessories are allowed.

According to Jubilee Days Chairman Chuck Allcorn, everyone on the committee is working hard to make sure the “Under the Sea” Jubilee is a big success.

One of the returning events is the Royalty Pageant for all ages of girls in the Warsaw R-9 School District. Little Miss is for girls from pre-K through second grade; Junior Miss is for girls third grade through fifth grade; Princess is for girls sixth grade through eighth grade and the Jubilee Queen contest is for girls from ninth grade through the twelfth grade.

All girls who attend Warsaw schools are eligible to compete. The Queen and Princess Contest will be on Thursday, June 6 at the Community Building starting at 2:00 PM with talent presentations. The Evening gown presentation and crowning begins at 7:30 PM. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Children under 5 are admitted free.

Candidates include: Queen – Aleahah Yoder, Brianna Fellers, Carly Keele, Grace Drake, Isabella Schwartz, Ivy Kelley, Jennifer Murdock, Jovi Robertson, Kimberly Tenfold and Naomi Yoder.

Princess candidates include: Austyn Wright, Chloe Yoder, Hayden Southerland, Kaydence Hoffman, Lailah Sanders, Lexi brown, Macey Heimsoth, and Riley Nevius.

The Little Miss and Junior Miss Contest will be at the Community Building on Friday, June 7 at 5:30 PM. Admission is $5 for adults, children $3 and under 5 are admitted free.

Junior Miss candidates include: Ashton Richardson, Bailey Steenburgen, Bell Fluty, Brookelyn White, Ciarah Taylor, Ella Anderson, Hailey Hinkle, Jessica Domer, Jacelynn Brookshire and Josie Parker.

Little Miss candidates include: Alainna Sanders, Effie Miller, Gabriellla Sloan, Haven Hinkle, Haylee Hatmaker, Jacyln Ward, Lillianna Domer, Livia Rogers, Molly Spry and Nixie White.

The Jones and Company Carnival will be set up on Drake Harbor starting on Thursday, June 6 from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM. Wristbands will be sold for $25 for four hours of all you can ride. The Carnival will also be open on Friday, June 7 from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM; Saturday, June from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM and then from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

The food court and craft tents will be open on Friday and Saturday.

The Annual Warsaw Jubilee Days 5K Run and 1 mile walk sponsored by Porter Chiropractic Clinic, P.C., Sportsman’s Outfitters Pawn and Gun and Reece Nichols-Golden Key Reality will begin on the Harbor starting at the old playground on Saturday, June 8 at 7:00 AM. Medallions will be awarded for the first three finishers male and female in each group.

Parade Registration will be from 7:00 AM until 10:30 AM on Saturday. Entry forms will be available on Saturday morning after 8 am at the T&K Automotive parking lot at Main and Jefferson. Judging for the parade will be at 9:00 AM. The parade is sponsored by Wal-Mart and will begin at 11:00 AM

Turtle races will begin at 9:00 AM on Saturday on Main Street followed by the bike races.

The Jubilee Days Car/Truck/Bike Show will be held on the square in downtown Warsaw on Saturday. Registration begins at 9:00 AM and goes until 12:00 PM or until after the parade ends. Trophy presentation which includes first, second and third in each individual class will begin at 3:00 PM. The entry fee is $20 if paid before June 8 and $25 at the show.

The Eleventh Annual Jubilee Days Karaoke contest will start at 1:00 PM in the Warsaw Community Building. On Saturday The first-place winner will receive $1,000 cash as well as a four-hour DJ service and automatic entry into the “Home Grown Singing Competition” at the Missouri State Fair in August.

Thorni Ridge Exotic Animals will be on display on Saturday under the shade trees at the west end of the Harbor.

There will be two exciting bands on the Jubilee Days Big Stage. Clear Clay Band will take the stage on Friday night starting at 8:00 PM with everything from classic rock mixed with a little country. Then on Saturday, June 8, at 8:00 PM Eastern Heights will be on the open-air stage in front of the Post Office.

These concerts are free to the public and are sponsored by Jubilee Days advertisers.

“The concerts are a big audience draw as people can bring their lawn chairs and relax on the street listening to some great music,” said Allcorn. “We couldn’t offer this entertainment free without the help of local businesses and other advertisers.”

Another musical entertainment at Jubilee Days is the Piano Man, Dennis Laffoon from Kansas City. The Piano Man will be entertaining the Jubilee Days crowd after the parade. He will be performing on the Benton County Courthouse lawn.

Another event at Jubilee Days is the Jubilee Days Men’s Leg Competition to be held on Saturday right after the parade. There is no entry fee and the winners will be chosen by the audience’s applause. Sign up Saturday before the start of the parade at the bandstand. The competition will begin at the conclusion of the parade.

Allcorn pointed out that the Jubilee Days Committee appreciates sponsors and advertisers for their generous contributions to the Jubilee Days event. “We want to make this the best Jubilee Days we can and it wouldn’t be possible without the help of this community,” said Allcorn.
