Kendra Wilhoit Nash of Overland Park, KS, 66, passed away on June 9, 2023.
Kendra was an only child, born in Kansas City, KS to Evelyn and Jim Wilhoit (both preceded her in death). At seven years old they moved to Clinton, MO for her father’s job with Kansas City Power & Light, where she was raised and graduated from Clinton High School. Post high school she went to Missouri Southern State College (now Missouri Southern State University) for two years then into the working world. She worked many jobs over her lifetime, and the constant thread was her love of and connection with people. In every job she ever had, be it working with the public or shaping the hearts of young children, her love of people shone through. She also loved to laugh and had a fantastic sense of humor; never taking herself or life too seriously.
Nothing in this world mattered more to Kendra than her family; she loved them with every fiber of her being. She was at peace knowing that her time on this earth would come much sooner than she wanted it to, however the one thing that made her most sad was knowing she wouldn’t get to grow all the way old (haha) with the love of her life or see her babies and grandbabies continue growing up.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Nash (Overland Park, KS); high school sweethearts married for 37 years. Her three children: Shannon Shockley (Jamie Shockley), Clinton, MO; Jennifer Coffman (Michael Coffman), Overland Park, KS; and Garen Nash, Overland Park, KS. And her seven grandchildren - her true life’s joy: Jazmyn Shockley (17), Kasyn Shockley (12), Ava Coffman (17), Ana Coffman (13), Andrew Coffman (11), Myla Nash (12) and Ella Nash (6 months). Along with many other family and friends.
Please join the family to pay your respects on Saturday August 5, 2023 from 11 - 1 at the Benson Center, 1008 E. Sedalia Ave, Clinton, MO 64735.
Thank you to all of the family and friends who have been by her and her family’s side over the years, especially the last few months; to Advent Health for exceptional care and to Phoenix Hospice services.
