Lady Bluebirds Reign Supreme With Kaysinger Conference Tourney Win

The Kaysinger Conference Tournament is history and the Cole Camp Lady Bluebirds dominated their way to the championship trophy.

Lady Bluebirds head coach Abby Massingill was elated, saying, "The win was a total team effort. Everyone did their job and started clicking at the right time. They gave 110 percent and had a blast doing it."

In Pool Play on Thursday, October 10 at Cole Camp, the Lady Bluebirds won easily over Sacred Heart 25-14, 25-9; thumped Windsor 25-16, 25-11; handled Smithton 19-25, 25-14 and beat Otterville 25-20, 25-16.

In their overall stats for pool play, 5'11" sophomore Andrea Dieckman had 27 kills to control the net.

Turning in complete performances were their other weapons of attack in Mandy Goosen who had 18 kills, 10 blocks and 13 digs and Marilyn Hesse who tallied 15 kills, 13 digs and 7 aces.

Setters Liv Pilant had 35 assists, 11 digs and 6 aces and Madilynn Ogle recorded 30 assists, 17 digs and 7 aces.

In bracket play on Saturday, Cole Camp overwhelmed Sacred Heart with scores of 24-6 and 25-16.

Mandy Goosen had 14 kills and 5 digs while Madilynn Ogle contributed 6 aces and 13 assists.

In the championship game, Cole Camp beat a good Stover team in 2 sets, 25-16 and 25-21.

The girls ruled the nets once again as Andrea Dieckman had 7 kills and 5 blocks, Marilynn Hesse finished with 8 kills and 13 digs, and Mandy Goosen added 7 kills and 4 blocks.
