After losing 76-29 to Lone Jack on Friday, the Warsaw Ladycats rebounded to defeat Benton County foe Cole Camp, 50-35 behind a 20 point performance by sophomore guard Tanna Howe.
The home team, the Lady Bluebirds, led 9-6 after one. Howe hit a three with 33 seconds left in the second quarter to give Warsaw a 17-16 halftime margin.
Howe, who struggled shooting in the first half but still led with nine points commented, "We made some adjustments at halftime to get more players involved. I was able to pass the ball down low."
It worked as Warsaw led 35-20 after three. Warsaw senior Rachel Henderson had just 2 points in first half but caught fire in the second half and finished with 14.
Warsaw coach Matt Henderson said, "We took some rushed shots early on, but we came together in the second half. "
Cole Camp's new head coach Derald Henderson commented, "We played hard. Howe is a good player. We have some things to work on but you expect that after your first game."
Warsaw evened their record at 1-1. Cole Camp started 0-1.
