Lavon L. Williams, age 97, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 11, 2023 at her home. She was born on November 1, 1926 in Benton County, Missouri to Albert and Roseltha Summers (Farier).
She was united in marriage to Kenneth Williams. Kenneth and Lavon made their home in Kansas City where they lived in the Ruskin area. Lavon worked as an investigator for the BBB for many years before her and Kenneth retired and moved back to Benton County. Following Kenneth's passing, Lavon would move back to the Kansas City area to be closer to family.
Lavon's family were instrumental in the building of the original Poplar Baptist Church. Kenneth and Lavon were also heavily involved in the remodel of the original church where they both were members and faithfully supported the ministry.
Lavon is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth, two brothers, Dale Summers and Dinzel Summers, two sisters, Vivian Veale and May Langston.
She is survived by two sisters, Audry Yach and Sharon Sartin, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services and interment will be held at the Lincoln Cemetery on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the Poplar Baptist Church c/o Davis-Miller Funeral Home, P.O. Box 400, Lincoln, Missouri 65338.
