Lincoln Residents Step Up To Replace Stolen Scooter

Posted

Donnie Kreisel who resides at the Cardinal Apartments in Lincoln had his scooter bike stolen and that was a serious problem as it was his only means of transportation. The theft was reported to the Lincoln Police and Chief Breshears and his officers worked diligently to find the missing scooter. They were successful but when located it was discovered it had been dismantled for parts. A suspect was arrested and charged but that didn’t help Donnie Kreisel who was left afoot.

A local couple was so disturbed over the injustice they decided to buy Kreisel a new one as a surprise. Police Chief Andrew Breshears picked Kreisel up in his car and drove him to the couple’s home on Friday, October 11 where they presented him with the bright shiny new transportation. Kreisel was nearly speechless and asked in utter disbelief, “You bought this for me?”

Unbeknownst to the couple there was a collection jar at Bullseye convenience store and that will now go toward a fund for gas and necessities. When you see Kreisel on his bright shiny new scooter around town, be reminded of how many great people live here and truly are their brother’s keeper.
