Mary A. Crosswhite, 88, of Clinton, Missouri passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026. She was born November 21, 1937 in Brownington, MO, the daughter of Jesse Earl Bybee and Dovie (Huskey) Bybee.
She married James Loren Crosswhite on January 8, 1983 in Clinton, MO. He preceded her in death on October 26, 2015.
She was a nurse for many years with Golden Valley Memorial Hospital. She and Loren owned L & M Supply from 1983 to 2011.
Following their retirement, they traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada, acquiring lasting friendships along the way.
Mary was a member of First Baptist Church, Clinton where she was heavily active in various committees within the church.
Among them, conducting funeral dinners for families, disaster relief and the Continuing Recovery program. She enjoyed sewing and visiting with people. She never knew a stranger. She enjoyed her monthly visits with her former nursing friends and colleagues.
Surviving are one son, Alva Franklin Allen, III (Tammy), Clinton, MO; one daughter, Sandra Jo DeLapp, Battlefield, MO; one step-daughter, Melanie Grissett, Colorado Springs, Colorado; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Robert Bybee (Carol), state of Arizona and Ronald Bybee (Jean), Brownington, MO; one sister-in-law, Janice Bybee, Sweet Springs, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Nancy Ann Allen; and two brothers, Lewis Bybee and William Bybee.
A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at the First Baptist Church, Clinton. Burial will be at a later date.
