Chapter EN of the P.E.O. Sisterhood started its 100th year at its new meeting place, the Back Room at Clinton Methodist Church last Thursday, March 13. The afternoon meeting, attended by 26 members, was chaired by President-elect Mary Lou Philpott, with Mary Ann Bath and Carolyn Walden as hostesses. Connie Grisier read the slate of officers nominated for the 2025-2026 year, who were elected and installed by Pat Brock.
Kay Grunig gave the treasurer’s report, and Marge Beasley reported that the auditing committee had found the books correct. The new budget will be presented at the next meeting. The dues increase was discussed.
The chapter president talked about social events planned for the anniversary year, and ways chapter members could strengthen relationships and raise money for P.E.O. projects. P.E.O. is an international organization that promotes higher education opportunities for women through low-interest loans for tuition, Star and International Peace scholarships, Scholar Awards for doctoral students and Continuing Education grants.
