Ray Homer Seaton, age 81 years, of Clinton, Missouri passed away Friday, July 3, 2026 at Northcare Hospice House, Kansas City, MO.
Ray was born in Clinton, Missouri on November 29, 1944 to George Homer Seaton and Beulah Irene (Griffith) Seaton. Ray married Judy Ammons on August 16, 1965. After High School, Ray went to the Army National Guard where he became a Tank Commander.
During this time he also farmed and hauled fuel. At age 21, he went to work for Peabody Coal Company as a laborer and then welder. He was also on-call as a semi-truck driver for Reliance Shop in Clinton as well as farming. After Peabody Coal closed, he worked for 18 years at Lake City Ammunition Plant in Independence, Missouri. He worked multiple jobs there and worked his way up to maintenance, millright and welder.
Ray enjoyed going square dancing as well as calling and teaching square dance. He enjoyed going to Pomme de Terre Lake each weekend camping and boating. He also enjoyed competing in demolition derbies.
After retirement, Ray and Judy traveled with their camper all over the United States visiting National Parks and other interesting places. Every year Ray enjoyed going to Cloud 9 Ranch (RV resort with four-wheeling) near West Plains, Missouri, Treasure Lake in Branson, Missouri and Countryside Park in Donna, Texas. He very much enjoyed playing his guitar, singing and dancing at those places. He enjoyed people and making them smile. The friends he made over the years were just like family to him.
Ray was a member of Northeast Baptist Church in Clinton, Missouri.
In addition to his parents, Ray was proceeded in death by his daughter, Ronda Seaton, and a grandniece. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Judy Seaton; his son Robbie (Wendee) Seaton and grand-daughter Kaitlyn of Clinton, MO; Nieces Kristy (Tyler) Kelly; Lindsey (Rob) Zucker; Kelsey Himes; many grand nieces and nephews; and many cousins, family and friends.
Celebration of Life services were held July 17, 2026 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with Pastor Joey Conway officiating. Special music included 'Amazing Grace How Great Thou Art and Kiss An Angel," by Ray Seaton. Inurnment was in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, MO.
Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
