Robert Andresen Davisson, age 84, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. Proud to be the 10th generation Davisson born in the USA, he was born in Kansas City in 1939 to the late Forrest Lee and Gladys (Andresen) Davisson.
Robert was raised in Mission, Kansas and attended Shawnee Mission High School from 1954-1957. He went on to attended the University of Kansas & Rockhurst University where received a business administration degree.
He served his country in the US Navy, serving as an Operations Specialist aboard USs Boxer CV-21(1958-1960) and on staff of COMPHIBRON as an electronic countermeasures specialist. He was employes for 31+ years with various AT&T companies where he held managerial positions in Marketing and Engineering in Kansas City, St. Louis, Oklahoma City and Los Angeles. Robert retired from AT&T in 1989, he worked for Vessel Assist in Newport Beach, CA. Known as the "Voice of WHV600" he provided radio communications with boaters needing assistance from the Mexican border to the Faralon Islands just off S.F. Bay. He was active as a ham operator KA4BOB, volunteering in communications with Sarasota County Emergency Management, American Red Cross and Greenfield Plantation CERT. He enjoyed spending summers with his old friends at the family vacation cabin on Truman Lake, Mo at Teal Bend.
He is survived by his wife, Ravina Davisson; and a daughter, Valerie Davisson Sonsteby (Charles); of whom he was extremely proud.
