The 84th Annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet was held Thursday night (3.13) at the Benson Center. The dinner was catered by Dietz Family Buffet and the bar was a service of A.I. Brands.
Chamber Director David Lee was the Master of Ceremonies. The Clinton High School JROTC presented the colors last night…Johnny Crawford sang the National Anthem…and the Invocation was given by Monty Stratton from the Clinton Methodist Church.
After dinner, those who spoke included the City’s Economic Development Director Mark Dawson…Mayor Carla Moberly…and 2024 Chamber Board President Amber Hansen. Hansen and Joyce Carr presented “Years of Service” plaques to Kyle Adkins, Adam Cummings, Matt Douglas, Tonya Gilley and Logan Modlin for their work on the Chamber’s Board of Directors.
The Chamber’s Ambassador of the Year was Traci Choate…Citizen of the Year was Kent Oberkrom…and the Business of the Year for 2024 was Mills & Sons Insurance.
For the second year in a row, the “Olde Glory Days Hall of Fame” inducted individuals who have worked hard over the past 30+ years on this yearly 4th of July celebration. Of course, OGD will continue this year, scheduled for July 3rd-6th. Those honored with this award in its first year, which was last year, included David Mills, Tim Glasscock, Dan Wallace, Dave Garnett, Craig Thompson, and Jim Martin. This year’s Hall of Fame inductees included Gail Mothersbaugh, Larry Mothersbaugh, Jim Raysik, Dennis Sieger and Debby Van Winkle.
Sabrina Harris is the Chamber’s Board of Director’s President for 2025. She spoke to those in attendance about her 2025 theme: “Driven to Grow”.
Jared Goodbrake is President-Elect and Hansen is the Past-President. Others on the Board include Steve Bradley, Daniel Dody, John French, Sabrina Harris, Jim Huenefeldt, Donni Kuck, Landon Modlin, Tammy Nadler, Jeff Stone, and Lori Taber. Roger House continues as a Board member representing the City.
Lee, Dawson, and Carr continue their work as the Chamber of Commerce employees.
In 2024, 26 new businesses, individuals, non-profits and more signed up to be members of the Clinton Chamber.
Stacy Hinkle, President of Clinton Main Street, provided an update on all the activities, promotions, events and more this organization has planned for 2025.
The Chamber gave away gift certificates from Dietz Family Buffet and Smith’s Edible Creations, a gardening basket from Seeds of Faith Preschool, and some went home with a beautiful flower arrangement, courtesy of TC-Transcontinental, to conclude the evening.
