Jerrick Millington was recently named the Windsor High Male of the Year from the Class of 2025. Jerrick played football for four years and basketball for one season.
On the football field he was a three-year starter as a wide receiver and a cornerback. He received conference, district, and all-media honors. Asked for some of his thoughts as a Greyhound he mentioned, “My favorite memories would be getting ready with the guys before games and scoring touchdowns.” Jerrick tacked on touchdowns both as a receiver and running reverses.
Will McKnight was Jerrick’s social studies teacher in junior high and was the defensive coordinator all four years of his high school career. McKnight commented, “Jerrick did an outstanding job for us in football. He played split end on offense and cornerback on defense. Through his great work in the weightroom, Jerrick turned himself into an excellent athlete. This athleticism was made very apparent on Friday nights whether he was catching a big pass or defending the other team’s top receiver. His leadership in the locker room aided in the program maintaining its current streak of winning seasons. It was a complete honor to have coached this fine young man.”
His senior year he went out for basketball. Windsor’s basketball Dave Hesse replied, “Jerrick is an outstanding student, athlete, and young man. He came and worked hard to learn our plays. By midseason he was our sixth man and started a few games when injuries hit us. He was a captain and a leader for us in one year.”
When asked to give his advice to future WHS student athletes he said, “Work hard for your dreams and don’t ever take it easy on yourself.”
