What a fantastic night seeing so many sports teams and other organizations Monday, Nov. 8 at the Winter “Meet the Cards.” The gym was packed with students and parents.
The flags were posted by JROTC cadets and the CHS Choraliers sang the National Anthem. Then A.D. Alex Johnson started the program off by introducing Ag Teacher Tanner Robertson and his FFA National Championship team: Alana Alexander, Riley Heerdink, Camryn Kemper and Caroline Wagoner. What a start. Then the coaches and athletes of every winter sports team at CHS and CMS were introduced, which included boys and girls basketball, wrestling and archery. The award winning Crimson Girls also preformed and the huge CHS Cardinal Pride Pep Band as always rocked the gym. The Winter Cheer Squad thrilled the attendees when they performed. The Drama Club and the JROTC Rifle Team were introduced as well.
I have said this before, if you ever get down about how the “youth of the day’ are not like they used to be, try coming to a Cardinal “Meet the Cards.” I find seeing so many students engaged in school activities very uplifting. There will be more pictures of the different teams on the sports page as space allows. Go Cards. Check out the Democrat’s Facebook page.
