The Benton County Sheriff’s Office representatives Major Dean Noll and Lieutenant Kelly Lowe were present at the Benton County Commission meeting on September 23. Michael McBride met with the Commissioners to discuss a road within K.C. Colony subdivision. Presiding Commissioner Steve Daleske explained procedures for vacating a road and indicated that the road in question has not been vacated by the Commissioners.

McBride stated that this road is a subdivision road and should not be vacated since the plat indicates that roads are open to the public, but a gate has been constructed across a road by another resident. Sheriff’s deputies have visited this area several times to address complaints. Lieutenant Lowe stated that this is a civil matter and that there is nothing law enforcement can do. McBride was advised to seek legal guidance in this matter.

County Treasurer Rick Renno presented his weekly financial report and County Clerk Susan Porterfield submitted bills for approval and payment.
