Betty Jane Russell, 89, of Liberty, Missouri passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on October 6, 2024 at Oxford Grand Assisted Living.
Betty was born October 10, 1934 to Ruby and Emory Moore in Stone County, Missouri. She met her soulmate and love of her life, Sidney Wayne Russell, in their teenage years and went on to marry and start a family with 3 children to follow. In 1951, they were blessed with the birth of Lyndell Lee Russell, Linda Jolaen Russell came in 1954, followed by Kenneth Wayne Russell in 1960. Jolaen's husband, Mike Taylor and Ken's wife, Jenny complete the immediate family. Betty enjoyed gardening, outdoors, nature, birds and spoiling her family.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, twin brother and sister and their spouses Boots and Butch Johnson and Bobby and Pat Moore.
She is survived by her children; Lyndell Russell, Jolaen (Mike) Taylor and Ken (Jenny) Russell, grandchildren; Ben (Alicia) Russell, Clint (Bridget) Taylor, Dalton Russell and Dillon Russell, great-grandchildren; Ethan, Mia, Callahan and Colt. She also leaves behind a sister Carolyn (Frank) Sirna, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
There will be a graveside service at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at The Missouri City Cemetery, Missouri City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Excelsior Springs Hospice, 1010 N. Jesse James Road, Excelsior Springs, Mo 64024.
