Betty R. Hutchison, 86, passed on April 8, 2023, at the Appleton City Manor, Appleton City, Missouri.
Betty was born October 26, 1936, to Rodney Shank and Nedra “Hendrix” Shank, in Deepwater, Missouri. Betty graduated Deepwater High School and attended college at Bolivar Baptist College but did not receive a degree. She married Jerry Hutchison in Tucson, Arizona, in 1960. The celebrated their 57TH wedding anniversary before Jerry passing.
Betty was a Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant in the Agriculture field for most of her working years. She retired in 1998. She belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star, and held the position of Worthy Matron. She was also a member of the Grand River Homemakers, the Red Hats Society and Ladies Auxiliary (Elks Club). She loved sewing, quilting, gardening and fishing.
Betty is survived by, daughters, Kathy (Victor) Mendez, and Karen (Buck) Lydic; grandchildren, Shawn Carpenter, Michael Hutchison, Jessica Mendez, Karena (Marcus) Cloe, and Shelby Lydic; 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Terry Shank, and James (Signe) Shank; as well as several other family and friends.
She was preceded by, her parents, Rodney and Nedra Shank, and her husband, Jerry Hutchison.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, May 8, 2023, at 1:00 PM, at the Urich Baptist Church, 502 N. Main St., Urich, MO. 64788. Inurnment to follow the service at the Urich Cemetery, NW 1271 Road, Urich, MO. 64788.
