The CHS Cardinals track team qualifed 13 athletes in seven different events on Saturday, May 21 at the Sectional Track meet held in Odessa.
Bailey Wishard took 2nd at Sectionals in the girls Javelin, setting a school record with 38.79 meters.
The boys 4x800m relay team of Brant Bremer, Cameron Mertz, Gage Ross and Derek McCormack qualified by getting 4th.
The girls 4x200m relay team made up of Jacey Peery, Amitria McNack, Kearsten Knights and Skyte Wilson also moves on after placing 4th.
Leah Kenney advanced after a 3rd place finish in the girls 1600m race.
The girls 4x100m relay team of Skyte Wilson, Kearsten Knight, Jacey Peery and Paityn Cook placed 4th and also move on to the state event this weekend.
Vyla Brown got 2nd in the girls 3200m run and she's moving on.
Triston Switzer got 1st in the boys Pole Vault so he also advanced to this weekend's competition. The MSHSAA State Track Championships are held at Jefferson City on Friday May 27 and Saturday, May 28.
The CHS head track coach is Nathan Johnson.
