Clinton Healthcare Spotlight Resident Of The Month: Dottie Fellers

Posted

Dottie was born on March 25, 1937, to Lawrence and Mable Gray in
Iowa City, Iowa. Dottie had six other siblings and they were all brothers. Dottie recalls them always taking care of her. She didn’t have to worry about anyone messing with her. Dottie was married at the age of
sixteen to a carpenter named Darwin Clark.
They had three children together, Terri, Tommy and Ira. Tragically she lost Darwin in a boating accident when she was pregnant with Ira.
Darwin had made sure if anything was to happen to him his family
didn’t have to worry about how they would make it. A couple of years
later she fell in love with Leo Fellers. It wasn’t long and Linda and Larry came along. Leo owned a Chrome plant and Dottie would work there on occasion.
Leo and Dottie enjoyed restoring old cars and often you could find
them at a car show. They took great joy in restoring old things. Dottie was an active church member and loved getting together with the
la-cites of the church. Dottie was a social butterfly and was always on the go. She loves to garden and take care of her flowers. She also enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino. She lost Leo a few years ago and became a resident at Clinton Healthcare and Rehabilitation in 2019.
Dottie still enjoys listening to music and attending church services.
Dottie has ten grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She loves it when visitors come by and paint her nails. What a pleasure it is to have Dottie at Clinton Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
