Clinton's McNack Takes State Podium For Third Time In Three Years

In her attempt to defend her state championship from just a year ago, Clinton's Amitria McNack came up just short, but her visit to Columbia did not bring her home empty handed as she still managed a third place finish at the 2024 MSHSAA Wrestling Championships.
It is the third time in three years that McNack has found her place on the podium at the state event.
In her first match on the opening day, McNack disposed of Lafayette County's Gillian Davenport with a quick 18 second pin and then got her second win of the day in the next round when she won by fall over Avery Clark of Trenton to advance to Thurday's matchups.
In her semifinal round, McNack suffered her first defeat of the season when she lost an 8-4 decision to Keely Fallert of Oak Grove, sending her to wrestlebacks on the back side of the bracket.
In McNack's next bout, she picked up a win by injury forfeit over Knob Noster's Abby Sader, automatically advancing her to the third place match.
There, McNack won a 9-1 major decision over Sarah Wilson of Marshfield to secure her spot in the top three.
