Colleen Fern Wisner passed away April 2, 2023, doing what she loved -- driving a tractor on a beautiful spring day. Throughout her 36 years on this earth, she was loved beyond measure by her family and friends, and no one was more important to her than her two sons, Hunter and Kyler.
Born June 17, 1986, to Curtis L. and Lucinda F. (Meloy) Wisner, Colleen was the first grandchild of John (Bill) F. and Luella F. (Gardner) Meloy and the only granddaughter among five grandsons of Pawle and Juanita (Smith) Wisner. Her brother Daniel Curtis Wisner was born two years later.
Colleen attended Osceola Public Schools, graduating in 2004. She was FFA Chapter President, active in NHS and school plays, and a standout on the basketball team. She went on to earn her American Farmer degree in 2005. She went to State Fair Community College in Sedalia, MO, for her Associate’s Degree in Custom Application.
Colleen never strayed far from farming and agriculture in her work life. During college, she worked at a livestock auction and in trailer sales/repair. Later she worked at Countryside Market and trained as a butcher. She drove a school bus for Apple Bus Company for several years and also worked at Producers Livestock Auction during that time. She started working at Cook Tractor Parts, an agricultural salvage yard, in 2016 and played a significant role in managing their parts database. Her current role there was Rebuild Shop Manager. She was also working for West Farms Custom Harvesting & Hauling, spending many hours in the field during planting season and harvest.
Colleen launched and built the TeamKids program at Vista Baptist Church, working tirelessly to develop the program into a thriving part of the church’s ministry and outreach. She also served there as VBS Director. Colleen was baptized in 2010 and attended Vista Baptist Church much of her life.
In her free time, Colleen loved spending time with her boys and on the farm. She enjoyed deer hunting, riding four wheelers, and living the country life.
Colleen leaves behind her sons, Hunter and Kyler, parents Curtis and Lucinda Wisner, brother and his wife Daniel and Shelby (Moore) Wisner, nieces Lydia Rose and Lyla Fern Wisner, nephew Truman Daniel Wisner, grandparents Bill & Luella Meloy, aunts and uncles Mark and Regina (Wisner) Brownlee, Kevin and Sharon (Murray) Wisner, Mark and Julie (Marczewski) Meloy, Dave and Christy (Meloy) Beck, and many cousins, friends, and co-workers.
