Furious Clinton Comeback Leads To Cardinals First Win Of Season

In a thriller in front of a great home crowd, the Cardinals secured a narrow victory, their first of the 2023-24 season, over the Archie Whirlwinds with a final score of 44-42.
The first half proved challenging for the Cardinals as they found themselves trailing 18-12 after the first quarter. The Whirlwinds capitalized on their lead, extending it to 34-20 by halftime.
The Cardinals showed resilience, turning the tide in the third quarter as Archie and Clinton added 8 points apiece to their totals, making the score 42-28 after three periods were in the books.
The game's pivotal moments for the Cardinals and their faithful unfolded throughout the fourth quarter when they used a rampant 15-0 run to close out the 44-22 final.
Senior Garrett Ethridge and sophomore Kaiden Townsend both turned in memorable performances, leading Clinton with 12 points apiece.

On Thursday night, the Lady Cardinals (4-2) dropped their second game of the season after a humbling 61-37 home loss to the Nevada Lady Tigers.
Skyte Wilson led the Lady Cards with 10 points while Swearingen dropped 32 for Nevada.

In the opening round of the MRVC Tournament on Monday night, the Clinton boys fell to Warrensburg by a final of 57-43, dropping their season record to 1-4.
