Have I Got A Line For You!

The trial of Alex Murdaugh has been fascinating to watch. He’s been accused of murdering his wife and son. There’s a new Netflix documentary about the family too. After watching it, I don’t believe there was one member of the Murdaugh’s that didn’t kill someone intentionally or deliberately. There was the girl killed in a boating accident by his son, mysterious death of a teen linked to his other son Buster, and the maid who “fell down” the steps at their home. If you ask me Alex killed Maggie and Paul, planned it and laid out the trap. But he didn’t take into account young people and their social media habits. Four minutes before the murder, Alex can be heard in the background on a video message Paul sent to a friend. What a tangled web. Have you ever watched the show Ray Donovan on Prime? That ruthless family reminds me of this one.

Let’s stay on the subject of crime here. The Gov says that St. Louis Attorney General Kim Gardner should resign over public safety concerns. She was elected in 2016 on a platform of reforming the criminal justice system. Anyone who says “reform” these days is usually talking about chaos and degradation. Kim Gardner has done nothing but allow crime and criminals to run rampant in St. Louis. Most people I know won’t attend sporting events or travel there due to downtown crime. Now an innocent bystander has paid the price for her neglect.
Kim says this is just politics. Well, go to the hospital and explain that to the young girl who lost both of her legs. The man who caused this violated his GPS monitoring 51 times and had 10 violations in the last month, yet remained free. But she jumped right on the McCloskeys who were exercising their 2nd Amendment Right to own firearms and use them in defense of themselves and their property. This isn’t a police funding issue. This is a “little to no consequences” issue. If we start to hold people accountable again it will stop. Criminals don’t fear the law anymore.

I was saddened to learn that Richard Bacon died. He had more sayings than anyone I’ve ever known. “Fine as frog hair” was one of my favorites. I miss him being on Main Street in Warsaw and sparring with Lyla. What a lively place they made it. Those were good days and he was a good man. God Speed Richard.

Where does the time go? That’s an old, old question. Take care of yourself.
