Lot’s of us we’re “glued to the tube” over the weekend watching the coronation of King Charles. I loved it! A country however flawed that still believes in tradition. Not my tradition, but still something to marvel at. It was nice to see the arrangements were genuine diversity. That was refreshing given that many graduating students from universities want separate and apart commencement programs these days. In the meantime, many of our traditions are being swept into the dustbin and we seem more divided by the day. What will become of us?

Well, the President was finally asked about the latest round of allegations regarding Hunter’s shady business dealings. He said Hunter has done nothing wrong and, “Impacts my Presidency by making me feel proud of him.” UNBELIEVABLE! The Biden standard for doing nothing wrong is to disavow a child out of wedlock, engage in rampant influence peddling, lie on a Federal firearm application, video tape yourself doing crack with hookers, go after your dead brothers wife and hide out in the White House to avoid process servers with child support papers. Criminals always feel proud of their criminal children. It’s like the mafia. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Harsh, but it’s true.

I read yesterday that a good book to re-read is John Steinbeck’s novel “The Moon Is Down.” It’s a story about the uneasiness soldiers occupying Norway felt. They’d been told before the “conquest” that Norwegians would welcome them. What happened though, as Steinbeck described it, was a constant uneasiness and a feeling that these quiet non-smiling people were watching, watching and waiting. Years later this book was made into a movie and Ronald Reagan starred in it.
