Lady Bluebirds Hope To Fly High This Season

Posted

Around 22 girls have turned out for practices for the Cole Camp Lady Bluebirds softball program.

Retired coach Terri Ward has returned to help coach the Lady Bluebirds this season. It could be a rebuilding year as several core players graduated.

Junior Emma Thayer will take over the starting pitching duties.

Cole Camp loves to take the extra base on the base paths and drive opposing teams into costly throwing errors. But getting on base could be a problem early on in the season.

Senior Gracie Thompson is as good as it gets defensively in center field. She will be expected to cover lots of ground in the outfield and get on base consistently.

It is still early in practice, the Lady Bluebirds will find their strengths and weaknesses and improve as the season rolls on.
