The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners Basketball Head Coach Nicole Collier added 10 student-athletes to her 2024-2025 roster. The group will begin their academic and athletic careers at SFCC in the fall.
Ellie Buscher of St. Louis is a 6’0 forward who played at Lutheran South High School.
Buscher averaged 15 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks per game as a junior. Buscher was named the Class Four District Four Player of the Year. She was also named first team All-District and All -Metro League first team. She holds the school record for career blocks with 218, blocks in a season with 106 and blocks a game with 11. She is a member of the National Honor Society and graduated with Honors with Highest Distinction.
Nevaeh Hill of Warrenton is a 6’1 center who played at Warrenton High School.
Hill averaged 16 points and nine rebounds per game as a senior. Hill was named Gateway Athletic Conference Player of the Year and first team All-Conference. Hill was also named first team All-District. She led her team in scoring and rebounding and earned the Warrenton Coaches Award.
Sophia Edwin of Killeen, Texas is a 5’5 guard who played at Shoemaker High School.
Edwin was named a Texas Girls Coaches Association All-State selection in 2024. Edwin was also named the District 22-5A Offensive Player of the Year in 2024. She earned first team All-District honors three times during her career. Edwin was named District 22-5A Defensive Player of the Year in 2023. Edwin was Newcomer of the Year in 2022. She was also named the team’s Most Valuable Player twice.
Malia Rodgers of Montgomery City is a 5’11 guard who played at Montgomery County High School.
Rodgers averaged 16 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals per game as a senior. Rodgers earned Missouri Basketball Coaches Association All-State honors in 2022-2023 and 2023-2024. Rodgers was named to the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association All-District Team four times and Missouri Basketball Coaches Association District Player of the Year three times.
She was a unanimous three-time first team All-Conference player and holds numerous program records, including all-time leading scorer with 1,410, all-time leader in assists with 379, all-time leader in free-throw percentage at 76.7 and second in program history in steals with 290.
Rodgers graduated with Summa Cum Laude Honors and earned an Academic Gold Medal. She was also the president of the National Honor Society.
Ma’Leah Duvall of Killeen, Texas is a 5’9 guard who played at Chaparral High School.
Duvall averaged 12 points per game and was named first team All-District.
Carolyn Foster of O’Fallon, Illinois is a 6’0 guard/forward who played at O’Fallon Township High School.
Foster averaged seven points, five rebounds and two assists as a senior. Foster helped her team to a Class 4A State Championship during the 2022-2023 season. Foster earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors during her career.
Shyrah Wright of Grandview is a 6’0 guard/forward who played at Grandview High School.
Wright averaged 12 points and eight rebounds per game as a senior. Wright earned Kansas City Suburban Conference first team and first team All-District. She was a DiRenna Missouri All-Star and earned Grandview High School Female Athlete of the Year in 2024.
Zakiyah Brownlee of Wilson, Arkansas is a 6’5 post player from Rivercrest High School.
Brownlee averaged 10 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks as a senior. Brownlee was a three-time all-conference selection during her high school career. Brownlee helped her team to a NEA Tournament Championship in 2022-2023. Brownlee was named to the All-Tournament Team. Brownlee ranked in fourth place in the AAA Arkansas High School Record Books in 2022-2023 with 4.1 blocks per game. Brownlee finished fifth in the AAA Arkansas High School Record Books in 2023-2024 in blocks per game with 4.0. She played in the North Arkansas Senior Showcase and the AHSCA All Star Game.
Jonise Barcene of Cocoa, Florida is a 5’8 guard who played at Cocoa High School.
Barcene averaged six points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals per game. Barcene was named All-Cape Coast All-Conference. Barcene was a team captain and earned the Tiger Pride Award.
Chiney Idika of Kansas City is a 5’10 guard who played at Ruskin High School.
Idika earned second team All-Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference Blue Division as a senior, where she averaged 15 points, seven rebounds and four blocked shots per game.
“This is an exceptional class of young women from teams with winning cultures,” said Collier. “We added depth and versatility that will complement our returners. We have versatile guards who can handle the ball, score, defend, and distribute. Our front court has size, grit, physicality, and toughness. We are excited to get them on campus this fall!”
