Sadly, Michel LaCasse (Mike) died April 27, 2024 in Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley California due to a fall and fatal head injury.
Michel grew up in rural Missouri near Clinton where he attended Clinton High School and enjoyed playing football. He delighted in returning to Clinton for class reunions and meeting up with friends.
He was born June 14, 1942 to Leopold and Muriel LaCasse in Clinton where he was delivered by Dr. Shelby Hughes who would later become a family member.
Michel joined the United States Navy in 1960, earned a BA from Missouri State, Kansas City, an MBA from the University of Phoenix and made a home in Fremont California, but he always had a fond attachment to Clinton, Missouri.
A very loving man, Mike was happy to be blessed with a large family. He is survived by his wife Kim and daughters: Sandee Oliver, Suzette Rego, and stepdaughters Elizabeth and Rebecca. His grandchildren are Mike Cohagan, Andre, Dante, Rodney, and Damon Oliver, Mason Rego and great grandson David Cohagan. Sisters: Suzette McDowell, Carol Mitchel and Deborah Crawford. Brothers: Leopold LaCasse, Edwin Banning, Sherman Banning, and Timothy Banning. Nieces: Suzanne Lander, Laurie Benton, Monica Banning, Reana Brown, Christy Carpenter, Melissa Hamp, Valerie Bridges, Teresa Noel, Jennifere Hill, and Kimberly Bottom. Nephews: William Hughes, Trevor Banning, Travis Banning, Sean Crawford, Jason Crawford, and John Crawford.
Preceding him in death were his son Michel; wife Josephine Walsh, sister Anita LaCasse; parents, Muriel and Leopold LaCasse; stepfather Cecil Banning, and nieces Sherry and Teresa Banning, and Debbie Boswell.
The family plans a grave- side memorial service at Peaceful Home Cemetery.
