Shirley Marie Mulvey, 84, of Otterville, MO died Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born November 9, 1938, near Windsor, MO in Johnson County, a daughter of Curtis and Sarah Margaret (Bohon) Powers. On June 12, 1965, in Otterville, she was married to James D. Mulvey, who died May 3, 2005.
Mrs. Mulvey was a member of First Baptist Church of Otterville and served in various capacities in her younger years. She was raised and educated in Windsor, MO and was a 1955 graduate of Windsor High School. She worked at Hallmark Card Co. in KC a short time. She then worked for The Rival Company as a purchasing agent for 43 years, retiring in December 2000. She started working in the Sedalia, MO office in 1957 and transferred to the Clinton, MO office in 1993. She enjoyed crocheting in her spare time, reading, and being with her family.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Wayne Mulvey (Belinda) and David Wray Mulvey (Tonya), both of Otterville; a daughter, Joyce Marie Lear (Rodger), of Oak Grove, AR; one sister, Ellen Faye Meinert, of Warsaw, MO; two brothers, Charles Lee Powers, of Windsor, and Robert Wayne Powers (Frances), of Excelsior Springs, MO; three grandchildren, Giulia, Gessica and Giordan Mulvey; one step-grandson, Daniel Lear; one great-grandchild, Raven Marie Adair; three step-great-grandchildren, Austin Lear, Makayla Lee Lear, and Christian Lear; one great-great-grandchild, Mason Freeman; sisters-in-law, Faye Mulvey, Ellen Powers and Frances Powers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Kyla Marie Daniel and Shalotta Jo Daniel; a sister, Sarah June Zimmerman; and a brother, Walter Dean Powers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Otterville, with Rev. Russ Slocum officiating.
Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Otterville.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
Memorial contributions are suggested to First Baptist Church of Otterville.
