Clinton High School is proud to announce it has selected Daniel Stantorf as the head coach of the Clinton High School boys wrestling program (Coach Mowery will oversee the girls wrestling team). Coach Stantorf will also be joining the staff at Clinton Middle School next fall where he will be the strength and conditioning instructor.
For the previous five seasons, Mr. Stantorf has been the head boys and girls wrestling coach at El Dorado Springs High School. During this tenure, he was named the 2021 Class 1 District 4 Coach of the Year by the Missouri Wrestling Association. As head coach, he oversaw three boys team conference titles, four girls team conference titles, and had 32 individual conference champions. At the state level, the program had two top 20 finishes, 25 state qualifiers including six state medalists, and two state runner-ups. During his time at El Dorado Springs, Coach Stantorf was also an assistant football coach, serving as the defensive coordinator for the last three years.
Daniel was a three-sport athlete in high school, competing in football, wrestling, and track. His honors included achieving a four year varsity letter in football and track and a two year varsity letter in wrestling. He was also a two-time all-conference linebacker in 2011 and 2012 and a state qualifier wrestler in 2013. Coach Stantorf went on to play college football at Central Methodist University.
Daniel and his wife, Kareegan, have been married for 3 years, and have three children, Joseph (7), Jubilee (3), and Jemma (1). When their lives are not consumed with sports they enjoy hunting, fishing, and getting out on the lake.
“The staff, community, and this opportunity have me ecstatic about joining the district,” says Coach Stantorf. “I am excited for the opportunity to improve and grow the Clinton wrestling program. I believe we can take Clinton wrestling to the next level by creating a culture that will positively impact the district. It is my goal for athletes to be consistent on the mat and in the classroom, hold our program and athletes to a high standard, and most importantly grow our athletes into respectable young men.”
Activities Director, Kevin LaFavor is looking forward to Coach Stantorf joining the Clinton School District. “We are very excited about the addition of Coach Stantorf. He has proven success as an athlete, but most importantly as a coach. He has built strong relationships with his student athletes, allowing him to hold them accountable to do what is needed to succeed and give their best effort. Here at Clinton, we have an excellent wrestling community, from the youth level through high school. The addition of Coach Stantorf will only add to our rich history in the sport.”
