The Appleton City Public Library will now be open until 7:00 p.m. on Thursdays to allow patrons to check out books later. They understand that some business hours are the same as theirs, which limits some patrons to come in, so starting this Thursday, October 12, they will be open from 10:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. They hope this helps everyone that has been missing out on the chance to come in and check them out!
The AC FFA Chapter will hold their annual Food for America demonstrations 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 20 on the High School parking lots. Any community member interested in learning about agriculture is welcome to walk through and hopefully learn a few new things about the world of agriculture. They will have various demonstrations from Agricultural Organizations, as well as working stations put on by FFA members.
Ellett Memorial Hospital will have their 6th Annual Breast Cancer Wellness & Awareness Day 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Saturday, October 21. Come receive your pre-registered annual 3-D mammogram by Diagnostic Imaging Center Mobile Coach and receive a special gift. Walk-ins will be worked in as time allows. Appointments can be made at 913-344-9989. There will be door prizes awarded, fellowship, stories from survivors, caregivers and support will be shared. A light lunch served and treats to indulge! Vendors will be set up for your guilty pleasures and essential information available. Stay connected to our Girls Day Out Facebook event to receive more updates. Uninsured women 40-49 that meet the guidelines can apply for funding of a mammogram through our “Show Me Healthy Women Program”. Call EMH 476-5216 for info or help scheduling a mammogram.
Appleton City Worship Center would like to invite everybody to their official launch service 9:30 a.m. Sunday October 22. They will have lunch following for anyone who would like to join them. They meet at Farmhouse Kitchen banquet room and will start at 9:30 a.m. October 22
