The Warsaw R-IX Board of Education met on September 18th to discuss a range of important updates and decisions affecting the school district. Below are the key highlights from the meeting:

The meeting began with student, staff, and community recognitions. The recipients included Kylie Griffin, Student Spotlight winner; Karla Dickey, Classified Staff Member of the Month; Ally Richardson, Certified Staff Member of the Month; and Hilltop BBQ, Wildcat Pride Award recipient.

New business included a review of the district’s August Revenue and Expenses, along with a spreadsheet comparing the 2023-24 and 2024-25 budgets. Financial information is always available on the district website under the “About” section, by selecting “Board of Education” and then “Financials.”

Other new business included a Board Manual Update, which was approved with a change to policy C-135-B, aligning with current practices regarding Closed Sessions. The board also approved the District Testing Plan and conducted a Food Service Review, led by Assistant Superintendent, Shannon Deckard, and Director of Food Services, Ashley Haidusek.

During the closed session, various paraprofessionals, coaches, and a bus driver were approved by the board. Several substitute teachers were also approved; the board and administration are excited about the number of substitutes interested in serving the district.

The next regular board meeting is scheduled for October 23rd at 6:30 p.m. in the HS/JBMS Library. A full list of up-to-date events, including upcoming board meetings, is available on the district’s website at www.warsawk12.org.
