West Central Association of REALTORS® was awarded a $3000 grant from the National Association of Realtors®’ Smart Growth Program to support activities that create and expand smart growth development. The grant was used to provide an educational class on Smart Growth.
“REALTORS® build communities and work hard to make the American Dream a reality for millions of Americans each year,” said Emily Burke, 2023 President. “This grant will help raise awareness about the concept of smart growth in West Central Missouri while supporting and encouraging development that fits the Smart Growth model. We are proud to be REALTORS® that work and live in our communities and are thankful that we have this opportunity to give back to communities that we love and care about.”
Local elected officials from Pettis, Benton and Henry Counties were invited to participate in the class.
Nationwide, NAR offers Smart Growth Grants to various state and local REALTOR® Associations in effort to support mixed-use, higher density development where walking, biking, transit and the auto provide access to all, through education, policy development, citizen input to development decisions.
