Anna Lucille Stewart, (Lucille) 92, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2025 in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, surrounded by her daughter, some of her grandchildren and many loved ones in thoughts and prayers.
Lucille was born March 3, 1932 in California, Missouri. She became a widow in 1954 with her 2 children LeRoy and Deloris Hamilton.
Lucille would never remarry, but started a remarkable career with SCHREIBER FOODS in Clinton, Missouri. Lucille started in February 1955 making cheese, wearing a white dress and hose. Lucille had many positions throughout the years and thankfully the dress code changed to white pants. She loved her job, co-workers and cheese! Lucille retired from SCHREIBER on March 3, 2017, after 62 outstanding years.
Throughout her career she raised her 2 children and became a Grandma, Great Grandma and Great-Great Grandma.
Lucille loved to shop and buy for others. She was a great cook, especially on holidays. She also enjoyed crafting and sewing, along with creating treasures for her family and friends.
Lucille’s greatest accomplishment was her love and care for her family and Friends. She was always a lady and always had a sweet smile and cute giggle.
Lucille is survived by her Daughter Deloris Grindstaff (Hamilton).
Grandchildren: Tammie Schneiders (Chris) children: Michael Helvey (Bridgette) Children: Sophie & Averie. Travis Logan, Son Maxwell. Kyla Reimer (Allen).
Rodney Witherspoon, children: Ryan, Taylor, Jaydon.
Robert Witherspoon Jr. (Calli) Children: Robby, Jonathan, Stephanie.
Dennis Witherspoon Jr. Son Derek.
Sisters: Judy Micke (David), Margaret Hyde (Lee Roy), Hazel Lonon (Grady).
Many nieces and nephews.
Lucille is preceded in death by her Son LeRoy Hamilton, Mother and Father William and Emma Stewart, Brothers William (Bill) Stewart (Mary), and Jerry Stewart, Sisters Nedra Huskin, Martha Goodman (Vern).
The family would like to thank her many Friends for the love and support throughout the years. Everyone should have friends like Lucille had.
Thank you to Hospice in MO and IA, Pioneer Valley Living & Rehabilitation in Sergeant Bluff, IA (Hospice family) for making the last few days as special as it could be.
Also, a Huge Thank you to Clinton Christian Church, the staff and members for going above and beyond, from trips to KC for treatment, dinner deliveries, to regular home visits and the continuing thoughts and Prayers.
