Billy J. Hart age 84, of Clinton, Missouri, passed away, Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Clinton Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Clinton, Missouri.
Bill was born on October 20, 1940 in Ladue, Missouri to Wilbur Timothy and Ina May (Hartley) Hart. He had two younger siblings, James “Jimmy” and Mary Ethel. The family was musically inclined and enjoyed performing together at local affairs, where Bill played guitar and sang.
Upon graduating from Montrose Public High School, he enlisted in the US Armed Forces in 1958. He served across seas in France and Greenland until his honorable discharge in 1962.
Bill returned to the US and married Norma Jane Marshall in 1962, where they settled in Montrose, Missouri. They welcomed their son Timothy Wayne in 1963 and their daughter Ina Marie in 1965. Although they entered the marriage with the best of intentions, they ended the union in 1979.
Bill was remarried in 1980 to Sharron Kay Boyle. With the union, Bill welcomed Kay’s children from her previous marriage, Jo Dona, Donnie and Terry, as his own. Bill and Kay spent the majority of their marriage in Clinton, Missouri.
Throughout his professional career, Bill served in law enforcement as the marshall of Montrose, the deputy sheriff of Henry County and at the police department in Clinton. After retiring from law enforcement, he started his own mowing company that was respected throughout Henry, Hickory and Cedar counties.
Bill was saved and baptized at Appleton City Baptist Church in the summer of 1979.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Wilbur Timothy and Ina May and his brother Jimmy.
He is survived by his wife, Sharron Kay Hart; his son, Timothy Wayne Hart; his daughter Ina Marie (Eric) Justis; his stepchildren Donny Boyle, Jo Dona Schussler, and Terry (Sherri) Boyle; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as his beloved dog, Buddy.
Funeral services were held February 4, 2025 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with Rev. David Mills officiating. Special music included “How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High and Home.” The casket bearers were Donnie Boyle, Kent Hart, Terry Boyle, Josh Barber, Jason Cox and Eric Justis. Interment followed in Teays Chapel Cemetery, Montrose, MO. Military honors were under the direction of the VFW Post #1894 and the US Army.
Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
