In September of 2023 local business man Sam Sloan gave a donation of $500,000 to the Windsor 4 County Rural Fire Department. In the past year the department has purchased a new Pumper/Tanker truck for $345,000, Bunker pants and coats for $56,220, Helmets for $7,509, and Boots and gloves for $9,333. With the help of the City of Windsor we have also purchased a First responder/Brush truck with our part amounting to $125,550. This generous donation has allowed us to update the safety equipment for our firefighters and improve our equipment to better serve the community.
