The Cardinal’s Boys' Basketball fell just short of a win last Friday against Oak Grove, 58-55.
The contest was close in the first quarter, scorers were Dom Jackson (8) and Xzavier Ray (4). Thepoints scored by the Cardinals brought the first-quarter tally to 12-13.
In the second quarter, the Cardinals caught a glimpse of hope for winning this game. They caught up and passed up the Panthers with a halftime score of 32-29. Clinton's scorers for that period were Dom Jackson (6), Jace Wilson (7), Garret Ethridge (2), Xzavier Ray (3), and Kaiden Townsend (2).
After halftime, the Cardinals returned to a stronger defensive end from the Oak Grove Panthers, resulting in the Panthers taking the lead again 39-41 going into the final quarter of the game.
The Cardinals were able to attempt to pull back through and take a home win for Clinton but were not able to do so as they came up just short, 58-55.
