Catherine Willcockson, age 90, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023 at her home in Stockton, Missouri.
Catherine Lovica Farr Willcockson was born December 14th, 1932 in Peru, Iowa to Charles W. and Faith H. Farr. Her family moved to Henry County, Missouri when she was seven.
Catherine attended Norris High School where she met Carl Willcockson. They were married on October 23, 1948 and brought forth 8 children into their lives. They were married 72 years until Carl’s death in 2020.
Catherine was a homemaker, but really she was an exceptionally talented, industrious and self-taught woman whose knowledge, skills and hobbies blessed and benefitted her family and all who knew her. She was an expert at many things. Her endeavors were vast, including sewing, quilting, ceramics, painting, macramé, embroidery, cooking, baking, canning and freezing. She could make something useful out of anything. She also enjoyed crappie fishing, car rides and a simple hot dog roast.
Catherine was a master at crochet and organic gardening. No one ever left Catherine’s presence without a gift from her in hand.
Catherine was strong in her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a student of, and rooted in, the ministry of the apostle Paul and Paul’s gospel, how that Christ Jesus died for her sins, was buried, and rose from the dead and offers the free gift of eternal life, through faith, to all.
She prayed and studied daily and was skilled and knowledgeable in the scriptures. Catherine fell asleep in this life with the blessed hope and assurance of eternal life.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl Willcockson, three sons; Daniel Willcockson, David Willcockson, and James (Jimmy) Willcockson, two siblings; Leonard Farr, and Esther Voelzke.
She is survived by her five children; Dale (Lori) Willcockson of Calhoun, Missouri, Barbra (Kevin) Cook of Stockton, Missouri, Bill Willcockson of Clinton, Missouri, Charles (Stacey) Willcockson of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Roger Willcockson, and a daughter-in-law Donna Willcockson of Buffalo Missouri, sister Elizabeth Spickert of Warsaw, Missouri, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
